Vinblastine is finished!

Mel is all finished with his IV chemo and aside from the first treatment nearly killing him he has had no issues with the lowered dose. I am so excited that things went so well and that he seems so healthy and happy. Friday we are going to have another CBC drawn and as long as all his counts are good he will start CCNU. He will get that orally every three weeks for a total of 4 treatments and then he will be ALL DONE! He has been such a trooper through all of this. He got a new little foster sister the other day who has been keeping him busy, she’s adorable but quite a handful. It has been good to see him play and run with her and i think he enjoys her company.

  1. I’m so glad that Mel did well after his chemo! There is still a chance he may get a little sick a week or so afterwards, but hopefully it’s mild… Post some more pictures of your cutie soon!!

  5. Yay, no more IV chemo, Mel. Glad you’re happy and healthy and have a new playmate!

    What is CCNU though??

  6. CCNU is also known as lomustine. It is an oral chemo drug. So funny that your dog’s name is Catie. Thats my name spelled the same way and everything 🙂

  7. Yea Mel!! As you know Mag was on both the chemo drugs Mel is taking. She tolerated the CCNU fine- I hope Mel does well on it.

And we need some pictures of the new foster!
